This stage gave me less of the creeps and more of a melancholy. And the R13 was the first craft in R-Type that I truly ever fell in love with. Such a symbolic fate.
Whenever I reached that final boss, I would always make sure that the Force would face me as it made its final detonation - a reminder that it once served me, and by being lodged in the Bydo core, we would forever be divorced. Let me watch it, turned against me, that it may give me purpose.

@kickercaster18
The Bydo is a man-made weapon gone sentient, and it's rumored to be made from human DNA . . .

@atomofish
yeah. Considering it turned out that the Bydo was actually a weapon created and then banished by humanity in the 26th century before somehow managing to travel through time in the 22nd century (the setting of the R-Type games), it's to be expected.

@atomofish The transition to 3d graphics just allowed irem to really show just how dark the series is supposed to be.

@Kranical Mind I ask you where did you get to know the R-13 pilot's name? If you did, could you tell me about the other 2 pilots of the R-9 and RX? Just asking anyways. It's a pretty sad ending for the R-13...

weird fantasies, I just got to stage 5 and never went further, distorted stage confusion and I always slammed in to a spinning wall at the end
