Farida Khanum - Woh Ishq Jo Hum Si - Live Ptv ************************* ************* Farida Khanum Farida Khanum (born 1935) is a renowned Pakistani Ghazal singer from Punjab. She was given the title "Malika-e-Ghazal" (Queen of Ghazal) in tribute to her singing talent. In 2005, she was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan's highest civilian honour by President of Pakistan Early life and background Farida Khanum was born in Calcutta and raised in Amritsar. Her sister is Mukhtar Begum.She migrated to Pakistan after independence in 1947. She started learning Khayal from her sister Mukhtar Begum at age seven and later learnt classical music from the renowned maestro of Patiala Gharana, Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan. Career Farida Khanum gave her first public concert in 1950, where renowned singers like Zeenat Begum and Iqbal Begum also sang. Farida Khanum lives in Lahore, Punjab and performs at select musical gatherings. The ghazal she is most famously associated with is "Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Naa Karo"

@styraxtech Actually Ather Nafees was famous for his news columns of political satire. Unlike his prose, his poetry was serious and sad. Much like Ibn-e-Insha's prose was comic but his poetry was romantic. A tradition set by Inshallah Khan Insha, a court jester who wrote very sad poetry.

@tauseefphy Also, sanskrit is the original language not hindi. Hindi is actually a broken down version of urdu with words from sanskrit mixed in.

@tauseefphy Actually Punjabi was influenced by Farsi. Many words from Farsi were actually incorporated into Punjabi therefore making it more understandable. Before the Mughals came over to India India was not one country but different kingdoms and each kingdom had its own language. The Mughals came over and united all the regions and spread their language which mixed in with all languages.
