Rafi & Asha - Deewaana Mastaana Hua Dil - Bombai Ka Babu [1960]
"Bombai Ka Babu" or "Bambai Ka Babu" is a 1960 Hindi film directed by Raj Khosla and written by Rajinder Singh Bedi. The film stars Dev Anand and Suchitra Sen in her rare appearance in Hindi cinema.
Though the film was a thriller, it treads into rare Hindi film territory by hinting towards incest between the lead pair .
With classic songs like 'Chal ri sajni, ab kya soche', by Mukesh, and 'Deewana mastana hua Dil' by Mohd. Rafi and Asha Bhosle, the film was a musical masterpiece, and is considered one of finest films music by S. D. Burman and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Except for the "Brother-Sister" angle, the plot of Bombai Ka Babu is copied from O'Henry's short story, A Double-Dyed Deceiver.............
Mohammed Rafi (Hindi: मोहम्मद रफ़ी, Urdu: محمد رفیع; December 24, 1924 July 31, 1980), often addressed as Rafi Sahib, was an Indian playback singer whose career spanned four decades and is one of the most versatile male singers in the history of Indian cinema. He is primarily remembered, however, for his Hindi songs, which still remain very popular in India today and also among the Indian diaspora. He dominated the Bollywood music industry from the 1950s to the 1970s along with Mukesh, Manna Dey, and Kishore Kumar.
Between 1950 and 1970, Rafi was one of the most sought after singers in Bollywood.

Asha Bhosle (Marathi: आशा भोंसले) (born September 8, 1933) is an Indian singer. She is best known as a Bollywood playback singer, although she has a much wider repertoire. Her career started in 1943 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over 1000 Bollywood movies and sold many records. She is the sister of the equally accomplished Lata Mangeshkar.
Asha Bhosle has won seven Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards out of 18 nominations. She won her first two awards in 1967 and 1968, when Lata Mangeshkar still used to accept the award (Mangeshkar asked not to be considered for the award nominations after 1969 to promote new talent). After receiving the award in 1979, Bhosle emulated her elder sister and requested that her name not be considered for the nominations hereafter. Despite this, Bhosle is the most frequent winner of this award to date, tying with Alka Yagnik. She was later given a Special Award for Rangeela in 1996, and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. Following is the list of her Filmfare Awards: * 1968: "Garibon ki Suno" (Dus Lakh, 1966) * 1969: "Parde Mein Rehne Do" (Shikar, 1968) * 1972: "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja" (Caravan, 1971) * 1973: "Dum Maro Dum" (Hare Rama Hare Krishna, 1972) * 1974: "Hone Lagi Hain Raat" (Naina, 1973) * 1975: "Chain Se Humko Kabhi" (Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, 1974) * 1979: "Yeh Mera Dil" (Don, 1978)
* In 1997, Asha became the first Indian singer to be nominated for the Grammy Award, for Legacy, an album with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. * She was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India.
Asha Bhosle received Padma Vibhushan from President Pratibha Patil on Monday May 5, 2008.

Actually one of the most challenging roles for an actor to play ; tp portray sisterly affection towards a brother who does not view her as such.Watch the nuanced expressions of Suchitra whenever Dev Anand acts un-brotherly,so to say.
Very mature handling of a very incendiary story.Must watch.

marvellous song .fav since schooldays.but i dont agree with the narration that the story hints at incest because dev anand was forced to act like suchitra's long lost brother although he knew she was not related to him in any way and suchitra always treated which he coted him as brother and even when she got married to someone else and came to know the reality she insisted that he stayed on as a son with her parents to which he complied the end with the last song chal ree sajni was a grt hit
