This is definitely Bartók Béla. It sounds like his Music for Strings, Percussion & Celesta. Bartók extensively researched Hungarian and Romanian folk music. He dispelled the romantic belief that Gypsy music was Hungarian music. He proved quite the opposite, that the Gypsies in his country were playing "Hungarian" music which was correct. He himself developed themes based on peasant music. He wasn't a mere interpreter of Hungarian folklore as in these tourist csardás tourist bands of 2day.

It sounds like Bartók's "Music for Strings, Percussion & Celesta". It's one of his most wonderfully creepy-sounding works. I love it!
